Dubai Police rescue Saudi family stuck in desert

Dubai - After the search conducted by a helicopter, the family was found and necessary assistance was provided to them.

The Air Wing of the Dubai Police has rescued a Saudi Arabian family, whose SUV got stuck in the desert on Wednesday evening while trying to enjoy watching a herd of gazelles.
The centre extended a helping hand to the family in collaboration with Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) and Al Barsha police station as well as the General Department for Transport and Rescue.
The Command and Control Centre at the Dubai Police was informed that a vehicle was stuck in a desert area, and needed help.
Accompanied by First-Sergeant Faiz Mosaad and a male nurse from DCAS, Lieutenant-Colonel (Pilot) Essam bin Hafiz and First-Lieutenant Abdullah Al Sha'air moved to the place.
After the search conducted by a helicopter, the family was found and necessary assistance was provided to them, until the arrival of the security patrol from Al Barsha police station. A manned crane of the general department for transport and rescue pulled out the vehicle.
A member of the family said they had spotted a herd of gazelles while travelling in the desert and drove closer to enjoy watching the animals. "But all of a sudden the vehicle got stuck in the soft sands."
