During the Eid Al Fitr holidays, Dubai parks received 162,371 visitors, marking an increase of 2% over the same period last year, a municipality official said.
Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Awadhi, Director of Public Parks and Horticulture Department, Dubai Municipality, said that the second day of Eid witnessed the flow of a maximum number of visitors to the parks reaching a total of 48,468 visitors. Al Awadhi revealed that the first day of Eid also witnessed good flow of visitors to the parks. A total of 45,447 visitors thronged to the parks of the emirate on this day, whereas on the third day of Eid, the number of visitors to the parks was 19,335.

"Good weather contributed in taking Mamzar Park to the first position with regard to the number of visitors as the park received 26,000 visitors on the second day of Eid only. The park accommodated a total of 57,000 visitors during this Eid," said Al Awadhi.

Mohammed Al Fardan, Head of Parks Section added that the Creek Park stood second in receiving visitors by accommodating12,565 people, followed by Mushrif Park that received 11,790 visitors. Qusais Pond Park received 9,017 visitors, while Barsha Pond Park had 5,167 visitors and Zabeel Park 4,647 visitors," he said.

Al Fardan said that the number of visitors to Mushrif Park increased due to the availability of the swimming pool, which has separate sections for men and women. "Another significant aspect was the presence of the huge number of trees in the park, which contributed greatly to making the atmosphere cool there. In addition to that the newly opened Natural Adventures Park inside the Mushrif Park also attracted a large number of visitors," he said.

The Municipality had organized many entertainment shows during the Eid Al Fitr, especially in the Creek Park, which hosts the Children's City and Dolphinarium, where there were different games and dolphin shows three times a day throughout the Eid celebrations.
