While we're not discouraging you to view the fireworks display on New Year's Eve, there are a lot of goings on in Dubai that not only ensures that you see the fireworks - you'll also enjoy it from a relaxing view devoid of large crowds and phones being raised to take photos.
Everyone in Dubai knows that the New Year celebrations entail an extravagant display of fireworks in the town's iconic landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah. If you do really want to go see the fireworks in those places, check our handy guide for surviving the New Year crowds in the link below.

Attend the Royal Gala at Atlantis the Palm

What better way to welcome the New Year's than in one of Dubai's most luxurious landmarks. You'll be treated to some canapes, a luxury buffet serving a wide smorgasbord of food from lobster and caviar to shawarmas and fajitas. Don't forget the grandstand view of The Palm's fireworks and a panoramic view of the Dubai skyline.

Get a full-on panorama of Dubai fireworks in Meydan

Apart from Atlantis, those who live a fair distance the Palm Jumeirah can head down to Meydan. The venue offers a panoramic view of the Dubai skyline which will light up with colours while also making some noise of their own with a high-energy concert. Expect famous DJs such as Duo Axwell and Ingrosso on a set which will kick off your 2017 in high spirits.

Ride the world's biggest dhow

All aboard the world's biggest wooden dhow on the New Year's! Enjoy a peaceful cruise around the Creek while indulging in a five-course dinner prepared by chefs from Movenpick. Apart from that, get in touch with an eclectic twist of UAE culture with back to back performances of traditional Tanoura and live, on-board DJs.

Chill in Dubai's hidden areas

If crowds are not your cup of tea, you can always check Dubai's hidden nooks and crannies for spots that are perfect for welcoming the New Year peacefully. If you're on the other end of the spectrum, there will be parties around the city's best clubs.

Head to the sands

Probably the most raw and authentic way to spend New Year's why not keep it intimate between family and friends and head to desert with a nice campfire, some good food and interesting stories. You'll slo get unprecedented views of the skyline from afar. Win.
