The Nadd Al Sheba 2 Park was inaugurated in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, Assistants to the Director General and directors of departments and other senior officials of the municipality.
Al Tayer praised the efforts of Dubai Municipality to expand the green areas of the emirate of Dubai, which contributes to the enrichment of the emirate's breathtaking natural beauty, as well as protection of the environment.
"It is also part of our efforts to achieve the UAE National Agenda 2021 for a sustainable environment in terms of air quality, preservation of water resources, greater reliance on clean energy and application of green development, as well as the objectives of the Dubai Strategic plan 2021 that envisages to make Dubai a smart and sustainable city with the elements of clean, healthy and sustainable environment," he added.
Lootah said that the Municipality has been exerting all its efforts to ensure the spread of green areas in Dubai.
Nadd Al Sheba 2 Park, spread over a total area of about 0.96 hectares, is one of the neighborhood parks that serve the residents of the area. The park, constructed by Dubai Municipality at a cost of Dh4.5 million, has 0.64 hectares of landscaping. The design work was done in coordination with the General Projects Department. One of the national companies has carried out the construction and civil works as well as the installation of irrigation network.
The park is provided with two games areas with sea sand for children aged 1 to 5 years and 6 to 12 years. Safety and security aspects are also taken care of in the park. The park contains 14 decorative palm trees, 103 other decorative trees, 308 ornamental shrubs, 2,465 meters of plant walls, 974 meters of soil covering, and a landscaping with 350 flowers on an area of 755 meters.
