Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has awarded a contract worth Dh12 million to supply, extend and commission water transmission networks for a length of 8.3 kilometres (km) from Al Qudra Road to Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
"Dewa seeks to enhance the efficiency and transmission capacity of water supply in the emirate to meet the growing demand for water services from all sectors. The project reinforces our emergency supply plan and supports the sustainable development of Dubai," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive officer of Dewa.
"The project is scheduled to be operational in January 2016," Al Tayer added.
