This weekend is marked by the end of the 2016-2017 season of Global Village (and most of us are bawling). Despite that, the season ends with a bang with Indian artist Farhan Akhtar taking the stage. The 2017 Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) is in full swing today! Experience three full days of pop culture, with visits from stars from all over the globe. Hint: get up close and personal with your idols from TV and films. The event itself is well received by the Dubai community and is usually a melting pot for many enthusiasts to come together and show their quirky side.

See Farhan Akhtar live in Global Village

When: April 7,  9.00pm
Where: Global Village Dubai
This is a free event
Bollywood star Farhan Akhtar will be taking the stage of Global Village onFriday. The concert is free to watch for anyone who is inside Dubai's favourite amusement park destination. Think about it - free concert with Bollywood's finest and the opportunity to sit ANYWHERE.

Hear some local beats

When: April 7, 4.00pm
Where: The Daily, Rove Downtown Dubai
This is a free event
Dubai's quirkiest hotel - The Rove is teaming up with Freshly Ground Sounds for some homegrown beats. Enjoy some relaxing music from UAE bands in a laidback environment. The free-to-watch concert will be happening every Friday of the month.

Where: Dubai World Trade Centre
This is a free event

Where: Dubai World Trade Centre
A Broadway favourite and pop culture standard, Grease-inspired many of the youth to don their leather jackets and listen to rock 'n' roll. From April 7-13th, Dubai residents can enjoy the famous musical (and film) that tackles teenage life and the pangs of love. All with a healthy dose of 1950's Americana.
