Here is another reason for shopaholics and bargain hunters to celebrate: Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the annual citywide summer celebration, is back for its 20th edition from July 1 till August 12, offering six weeks of retail experiences and events.
The highlights of this year's DSS include the 'six-week sale', weekly 72-hour sale, weekly Friday Surprise and the Grand Finale Sale. The shoppers can get 30 to 75 per cent discount throughout the six-week DSS period that the top global brands will be offering across various malls and shopping centres in Dubai.
To celebrate the citywide promotion, DSS will also be launching its first-ever DSS City Pass, giving people up to 50 per cent discount in over 28 attractions across Dubai. People can enjoy Bollywood glamour at Bollywood Parks or they can channel their inner superhero at IMG Worlds of Adventure, all at discounted price this summer. Packages start from Dh449 for a standard three-attraction package and prices vary depending on the packages bought.
There is also mid-week 72-hour sale from Monday until Wednesday each week during DSS and Friday Surprise with incredible shopping deal starting on July 7.
The DSS will culminate in the Grand Finale Sale from August 10-12 that will feature the very last price cuts of summer, giving shoppers a final opportunity to snap up the best discounts, before the sale period is over.
"We are delighted to bring DSS back this year, uniting people all over the city with a scintillating, six-week line up of incredible sales, retail promotions, and events," said Saeed Mohammad Measam Al Falasi, executive director, retail and strategic alliances at the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai Tourism.
"Having previously redefined summer time with unique retail and indoor entertainment experiences, our 20th edition is set to be even better and I'm confident that it will make Dubai the place to be this summer," he added.
The organisers also noted that deals will only be revealed 24 hours beforehand so shoppers are urged to monitor the DSS website www.dubaisummersurprises.com and social media channels (@DSSsocial).
