Colonel Abdullah Said Al Matroushi, Director of Criminal Investigation Department at the Ajman Police, said they received a tip-off that someone intended to sell three cars - Peugeot , Nissan, Chevrolet Camaro - without documents. Police confirmed the information and arrested the accused, who disclosed that five others from his gang were part of this business.
S.M.G told the police that he did not have the required documents of the two cars as he had stolen them from two Asian women who were out on a vacation. Another suspect, identified as A.N.G, was arrested for making a deal with S.M.G to sell his car without the required documents. S.M.G planned to sell his car without documents, take the cash and then leave the country. He intended to return to the UAE and then report to the police that his car was stolen. The suspects were arrested after they put three cars on sale without obtaining their documents. Two of the stolen cars belonged to two Indians sisters who had gone out of the country on vacation.
Col Al Matroushi urged people not to buy any vehicles without obtaining the required documents as that would not only make them vulnerable to such thefts but would also invite legal action against them.
The police are making all efforts to ensure security and prevent crimes that threaten the security of the society.
