Man poses as a firefighter, climbs the Address for selfie

Dubai - Once inside, he allegedly took a video of himself holding a cigarette and a soft drink.

The Dubai Police have arrested a man for impersonating a firefighter during the operation to contain the massive fire that engulfed Address Downtown Hotel on New Year's Eve.
Speaking to the Arabic daily Al Roeya, a Dubai Police source said the man happened to be at the scene and climbed the tower in a firefighter's uniform. Once inside, he allegedly took a video of himself holding a cigarette and a soft drink.
The newspaper added that the police believe the man went inside without an oxygen mask or safety gear of any kind.
The source said the police have detained the man and initiated legal action against him. "This behaviour is not acceptable and is a punishable offence," the source noted. The source called on the public to refrain from any "irresponsible act".
The police have detected other similar photographs posted by social media users. The police, he warned, will not tolerate any such behaviour.
