The Ras Al Khaimah Public Prosecution has started interrogation of a 38-year-old Emirati man, identified as A.A.S, who has been charged with burning his parents to death in the Julphar area of Ras Al Khaimah on December 18.
Official sources said that the suspect was arrested in a record time and was taken into police custody for investigation on his motives to kill his parents and attempt to stab his younger brother.

Meanwhile, some reports suggested the accused was mentally challenged while some others affirmed that he was not remorseful about the crime.
"He was not good to us all, including his own wife, children, brothers, sisters, and of course his parents to whom he used to shout and swear at," said the younger brother.
The suspect allegedly fled the scene to a mountainous area after committing the crime, but the RAK Police managed to track him down and arrest him in a few hours, police sources said.

"The moment he entered the house, he dragged our father to the ground floor, poured petrol on him, and set him on fire," the brother added.
Though scared, the mother rushed to her son to stop him, but he pushed her down, and set her on fire as well, he explained. "He even stabbed me while trying to defend my parents and set the entire house on fire for no clear reason."
Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, deputy chief commandant of the RAK police, said the suspect purposefully set their parents on fire. "A medical report on his mental health has been requested from the bodies concerned."
Brigadier Ghanim Ahmed Ghanim, Director-General of the police operations room, said the civil defence department was alerted about the fire around 7.30am. "The 62-year-old Emirati man, who was in a critical condition, was declared dead late on Sunday."

Medical sources told Khaleej Times that the man, identified as K.A.O., could not survive the 90 to 100 per cent burns he suffered. "He was airlifted to a hospital in Abu Dhabi, but his condition was so critical and he succumbed to the injuries."
The man's wife, who was also badly burnt, was declared dead shortly after being rushed to the Saqr government hospital early on Sunday. "Though the 57-year-old woman, identified as N.A., was totally burnt, she was admitted to intensive care unit where all the specialists and consultants tried hard to rescue her life, in vain," sources said.
"The 27-year-old son of the deceased was also injured, but his condition is stable."
