According to prosecution records, the 28-year-old Nepali maid held grudges against the other maid, a Sri Lankan, over a Pakistani man and planned to kill her.

On April 2 this year, with the aid of a runaway maid, the accused reportedly stalked the victim until she arrived at the building where they all lived in separate flats. The runaway maid sprayed pepper on the victim’s face, blinding her, following which the defendant dragged her into the lift and took her to the eighth floor. With the intention to kill her, the defendant stabbed her in the head, right arm, and abdomen. The victim, however, managed to push them away and escaped, after which she was rushed to the hospital.

The incident was reported from the Silicon Oasis in Academic City in Rashidiyah area.

The defendant faces a premeditated attempted murder charge in the Court of First Instance.

“She stabbed me with a big meat knife. I pushed them and ran down to the seventh floor. I knocked on a door but no one answered,” the complainant told investigators.

Realizing that her two attackers were not following her, the complainant went to her flat and called her sponsor for help before she fainted. “I woke up after a while and saw policemen, paramedics and my sponsor’s daughter around me.”

A policeman said there was a lot of blood in and outside the victim’s room. “The watchman led us to the complainant’s room. She was bleeding profusely and broke down during questioning.”

When the police officers arrested the defendant, she confessed to the crime, saying she did it because the victim had stolen her boyfriend.

A hospital report said the victim’s stab wounds were serious and she needed time to recover.
