The Sharjah Police have arrested two men who allegedly used social networking websites to promote fake diet pills and medicines.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) learnt that the suspects promoted the fake medicines through bogus social media accounts. The labels on the medicines the duo promoted were forged, and the medicines fake, said the police.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the charges.
The police have appealed to the public to inform them about crime on their secret contact service called Najeed, by calling on toll-free number 800-151 or sending an SMS to 7999.
