Drivers heading from Dubai and Sharjah to Ajman need to be cautious as the Shaikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Meydan Bridge is to be partially closed on Thursday and Friday for development works.

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development has announced on Wednesday that two of the five-lane bridge will be shut down in the direction of Ajman from 11pm on Thursday to 1pm on Friday.
"The move is meant to help maintain the extension hinges of the arterial bridge," said Eng Ahmed Al Hammadi, manager of road department with the ministry of infrastructure development.
All drivers need to observe speed limit, take alternative roads, and strictly follow the traffic sign boards, he urged. "Motorists may take the alternative roads of Al Ittihad, Industrials areas, and the Emirates road."
The project is in line with the ministry strategy to adopt the latest international practices in terms of road projects to ensure high quality road networks, he pointed out. "This will boost transport across the country, and support our economic growth."
