The sustainability team of the department of economic development (DED) Ajman recently held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development Centre to help develop joint cooperation between the two government entities.
Ahmed Mahmoud Al Hammadi, director of support services and head of sustainability at the DED along with Rashid Hassan Sabt, Mariam Mohammed Al Kharada and Hakim Rashed, the members of DED - Ajman's sustainability team, visited the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development to attend the Cultural Summer National Programme 2017, which was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.
The meeting focused on the development of key guidelines, standards and practices to bolster the emirate's efforts towards achieving sustainability. During the meeting, both parties emphasised the need to deepen the joint efforts, which will further promote the concept of sustainable development and contribute effectively. Also discussed was the move to provide support for cultural centres, including the Ajman Centre for Culture and Development.
The cooperation resulted in an initiative wherein handmade works were created by the departments' staff out of recycled materials. The programme was developed to help enhance the spirit of positivity among staff while also improving their work environment, which plays a significant role in the move to increase happiness among workers.
Al Hammadi said the fruitful cooperation with the Ajman Cultural Centre is a positive step towards promoting the concept of sustainability among the department's employees, which falls in line with the directives of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, to achieve sustainable development, which is a priority of the emirate.
