A three-tonne Batmobile, the "Tumbler", boasting a V8, 5.7-litre Chevrolet Corvette engine and propane tanks that shoot fire, will be one of the "baddest", most outrageous "toys" at this year's Big Boys Toys (BBT) show.
The show will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on November 18-21.
Inspired by the Batman's ride, the Dh3-million Tumbler is a two-seater vehicle with leather racing seats, custom-cut windows, GPS navigation, five-driver assist cameras to minimise blind spots and a double den stereo with Bluetooth, CD, DVD and iPod integration.
"It has close to 1,000 horsepower engine and a gas propeller at the back, just like in the movie," said Atif Malik, director of Artaaj exhibition, which is organising the BBT.
"It also has a large screen to see what's going on at the back, since the rear tyres are as big as six feet," he told Khaleej Times. Yet, the Tumbler is road legal, as the fire spraying mechanism can be deactivated.
Bikes that run on water and other toys
Now in its sixth year, the BBT will feature over 200 local, regional and international exhibitors from 17 countries. The latest innovations and most luxurious machines, engines and lifestyle products will be on display - and on sale.
Among them, the Schiller S1-C will have its UAE debut at the BBT.
Using a catamaran system, the S1-C is a bike that runs on water, which can reach a speed of up to 11kmph - a speed high enough to race with dolphins. The bike is already available in the UAE, with a price tag of Dh24,500 for a carbon fibre model or Dh23,000 for an aluminium one.
86Cycles, a young Abu Dhabi company only established nine months ago, is bringing some of its top custom built motorbikes at this year's BBT. The customised Harley-Davidson V-Rod is a one-of-a-kind, with the largest tyres ever fitted - 260mm in the front and 360mm in the rear. You can have it for Dh500,000.
"It reaches from zero to 100 in 2.5 seconds, so it is not your daily drive, but it will get you there really fast," said Zeid Salman, managing partner of 86Cycles.
Another one-of-a-kind product is the River's Tone, a $9 million sound system built in Japan by the former Sony visionary Michio Sakamoto. The three-box set sound system, which can be connected to anything from an iPod to a home cinema, gives out up to eight decibels.
The boxes are made using 60kg of pure solid gold and diamonds, and the product is unique as only one has been built. Sakamoto himself will travel to the home of the person who buys it to instal and fine-tune the speakers.
"We also have at the BBT this year 50 super cars available for test driving. One of them is the V12 cylinders, 350kmph Lamborghini Aventador, available for a test drive for Dh700 - and this is not our most expensive one," said Malik.
Digital shooting, simulation, archery and interactive war fields are also available for the public at BBT 2015, which will be open daily from 12pm to 10pm on November 19-21. November 18 is reserved for "invite-only" and VIP guests.
