Galadari Automobiles, the official importer and distributor for Mazda vehicles in the UAE, has been investing substantially in developing its facilities to provide the highest quality products and services. "Mazda currently enjoys the third highest growth of any automotive brand in the UAE. One of the things that we plan to do as a long-term perspective is to build brand awareness of the several products under Galadari Automobiles," Ewan Ramsay, General Manager, Galadari Automobiles told Khaleej Times in an exclusive chat.

Over the last year or so a key focus area for Galadari Automobiles has been the development of its facilities across the country. "We are sitting in the new Al Quoz facility, Galadari Automobiles head office, serving the purpose of our new state-of-the-art body and paint facility. Doubling up as our parts distribution centre, the facility is designed to meet all the modern requirements."
Mazda secured a new showroom in Sharjah earlier this year. "It is a lease facility in Al Khan - in line with the image of Mazda. The fit-outs, designed according to Mazda CI, including its furniture, colours and signage, are expected to start soon. We have also refurbished our Fujairah facility and are currently looking for a new facility in Abu Dhabi for our workshop," Ramsay added.

Galadari Automobiles, a flagship member of the Galadari Brothers Group of Companies, is shortly coming out with a brand new Mazda 2 and CX-9. "We have just received the first deliveries of the new Mazda 2, which is dynamically different from previous Mazda 2. It is a couple of levels up, the driving characteristics are different and the specification is far more premium with leather seats and social media interaction. Mazda 2, more funky and trendy than ever before, is likely to attract the younger buyer."
The new CX-9, on the other hand, has made its first appearance at the Los Angeles Motor Show recently. Expected to be launched in the UAE sometime next year, it will join Mazda's CX-3, a small crossover from the auto major. "It is a new product and creates a new segment and more opportunities for us. We are displaying CX-3 along with MX-5 at the Dubai Motor Show," the General Manager said. Mazda is the official sponsor for the opening ceremony at Dubai Motor Show.
Even with a weak auto market, Mazda has been holding its own, doing reasonably well on the retail side. Backed by an aggressive campaign, the company has around 1.3 per cent share in the overall auto market with a potential to grow further. "We have clear goals over the next few years and these are shared with our brand partners. The UAE market, unique and dynamic, is very important for us," Ramsay concluded.
