A MULTICULTURAL
society-Malaysia is truly an international face
of integrated modern education. For a UAE or a
Middle East resident irrespective of nationality
the Malaysian education system offers an opportunity
to integrate into its student body, treating them
as their very own.
A round of the campuses in the various universities
and private college’s reaffirms this belief.
The campus and the city is a safe and secure haven
for students and provide all possible comforts
to make their new surroundings congenial.
Now with KL being directly connected to the entire
UAE and Middle East continent with Malaysian Airlines,
Air India Express, Singapore Airlines & Royal
Brunei, as well as Emirates, Etihad, it is very
easy to fly in at costs which are relatively low.
In the count undertaken at the start of 2006 session
almost 5000 students from Middle Eastern &
North African Countries had decided to enroll
in various courses across Malaysia for their graduation
or post graduation programme.
The Malaysia education today is at par with international
education and indeed gives a global competitiveness
to its students. Established and reputed universities
from around the globe have set up their campuses
working jointly with Malaysia universities and
colleges to offer international diplomas and degrees
in almost all disciplines.
Studying in Malaysia not only broadens the intellectual
horizons but also gives the students a wide knowledge
and understanding of international, political
and economic issues. It is a unique experience
of enjoying both Asian culture along with an international
cross cultural experience and one that is thriving
in a modern Islamic country.
Two hundred of the 518 private colleges are today
recognised by the Malaysian Government to enroll
international students in their varied programmes.
While these colleges offer a variety of options
there are five Branch campuses of foreign Universities
while 16 public universities and 23 recognised
private universities and one International Islamic
University of Malaysia are already in existence.

Some means of financial aid |
|
THE cost of higher
education does not come cheap, it’s a lifetime
investment for your future. Therefore, whether
your parents can afford your entire or partial
cost of tertiary education, you are advised to
go through this pathway in order to be competitive
in your career advancement. If your family cannot
afford the cost, you may work while studying part-time
or look for some forms of scholarship, study grant,
loan or other sources of financial aid to help
you to pay for your education.
This information on Scholarships serves to assist
you in finding the most viable means to finance
your higher education. |
| Education financing |
|
Education financing
is any type of assistance used to pay your college
or university fees. There are basically four main
types of financing: |
| • Scholarship
Awards |
|
This type of aid is also called
a GIFT AID, as you are not required to repay the
organisation which provides the award. Most scholarships
are from government bodies and private colleges/universities. |
| • Education
Funds |
|
Scholarships or loans provided
by the Government / foundation / private educational
institutions / financial institutions to reduce
the burden of financing a student’s education
expenses, whether locally or overseas. |
| • Unit
Trusts & Insurance Schemes |
|
These are typically investment
schemes that parents undertake for several years
to secure financial funding for their child’s
higher education. |
| • Loans |
|
Loans are financial obligations
that must be repaid. Loans are mostly provided
by private sector or government bodies. |
