Mind, the microcosm of this universe, seems to be an arena of visible and invisible forces that clash one another as in a game of chess.
The kaleidoscopic nature of mind baffles all by changing its colour as chameleons – a devil’s workshop , a treasure-trove of priceless ideas, an epicentre of joys and sorrows, fair and foul, innocence, simplicity, fearlessness and what not.
‘Art is an imitation of an imitation’ , ‘Uncriticised life is not worth living’ , ‘ Thing of beauty is a joy for ever’, ‘ Bygones are not bygones until ourselves are bygones’, ‘ Every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’, ‘2H2+ O2 = 2H2O, ‘ (a+b) 2 = a2 +2ab+ b2’, ‘E = m*c*c’ ‘ Business is business’, ‘ The end justifies the means’ are some of the reflections and manifestations of lofty minds of immortal masters who lived and spent their lives for the prosperity of the posterity.
‘Fair is foul, and foul is fair: Hover through the fog and filthy air’ the poignant and pregnant words of the witches in the Shakespearean tragedy ‘Macbeth’ are always enduring.
Macbeth failed to understand the latent sense of words of the witches due to the fog and filth of his ambitious mind. If he had had the sensible mind to understand the depth of witches’ puzzling words, he would not have lent his ears to the instigating words of Lady Macbeth and murdered the noble Duncan. As a result, the rosy dreams of the husband and wife ended in smoke and they had to embrace tragedy upon tragedy.
‘The end justifies the means’ is the slogan of the majority of modern Mrs & Mr Macbeths. Sooner or later they will have to experience that all perfumes of this world will fail to sweeten their filthy mind.
We cannot neglect the fact that today’s fair may be tomorrow’s foul. The very concept of goodness and badness varies from time to time and place to place, person to person. Often we are as confused as a scientist, who has started studying a planet, gets confounded when he sees a thousand stars through a telescope. We have to wipe away the dirt from the mirror of our minds which supposed to reflect the truth of the universe as it is. The distorted mind-mirror of political and economic giants of our age fabricates foul means to materialize their dreams.
Life on earth seems to be 0x0x0x0x0x0x0=0 for 70%, 1x1 x 1 x 1x1 x 1 x 1 x 1=1 for 20% and 10x10=100 for 10%.
Nevertheless, life can be a lovely wonderland of dreams to those who sustain the rhyme and rhythm of mind. When it is lost, everything is lost. Mind is the master architect of both heaven and hell. Imbalance of mind, the reservoir of omniscience, can beget horrors as the swell of a tsunami and vortex of a tornado. Serenity of mind is the stepping stone towards concentration that leads us to foresee the colossal tree slumbering in the tiny seeds and grass is mightier than gigantic trees.
