The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment has been merged into the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in Dubai, according to the law No. (1) for 2013, amending the law No. (30) for year 2009, issued by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.
This law is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
The aim of this legislation is to activate the role of the institution in the revitalisation of tourism in Dubai, especially shopping tourism, a key characteristic of the emirate on both domestic and international levels, as well as providing support for its role in the promotion of various economic sectors.
It also aims to establish Dubai as a regional and an international organiser of events and festivals.
