The 32-day Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2013 extravaganza will be held from January 3 to February 3, the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (Depe) announced on Saturday.
The internationally acclaimed festival and one of the best shopping experiences in the world will again feature ‘Dubai at its Best’ as its marketing slogan, signifying that the vibrant emirate showcases the best across all its sectors and services during the festival, offering unparalleled experiences to visitors and residents alike.
Launched in 1996 under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai as a leading tourist destination, the DSF stayed true its famous slogan, ‘One World, One Family, One Festival’ and, up to its 2011 edition, managed to attract more than 42 million visitors from across the world with a visitor expenditure close to the Dh100 billion mark.
Depe CEO Laila Mohammad Suhail said the dates for the 18th edition of the DSF were decided keeping in mind the spring break in neighbouring countries and some international target markets. She emphasised the importance of announcing the dates as early as possible so as to give stakeholders plenty of time to plan for the events.
