The working hours of private sector companies will be reduced from eight to six hours max a day during the forthcoming Holy month of Ramadan, without affecting the salaries of employees, the Ministry of Labour announced.
The Labour Minister Saqr Gobash issued a ministerial circular to private sector companies and establishments on the reduction of work hours in the UAE, which is in accordance with article 65 of the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980 on the regulation of work relations and its amendments.
The ministry congratulated the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates, government and people of the UAE and Arabs and Muslims on the advent of Ramadan.
