His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will lead the UAE delegation to the 33rd GCC Summit beginning here on Monday.His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will chair the two-day high-profile meeting.
The GCC foreign ministers met on Sunday to finalise the agenda for the summit. The ministerial meeting’s agenda included a number of important issues related to the GCC states in light of the ministerial committees’ recommendations concerning the GCC joint action march, especially in the economic areas. The issues in focus are the GCC common market, the customs union, the economic negotiations conducted by the GCC with countries and economic blocs, besides topics related to security and military affairs, environment, education and health.
Meanwhile, the ministerial meeting discussed the current issues in the Middle East — the Syrian issue, the Gulf initiative concerning Yemen and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
Press and Publication Director at the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Yussef Mohammed highlighted that more than 400 mediapersons will cover the event. A special media centre for the summit was inaugurated in Manama on Sunday.
