Known to serve delicious parathas and other Indian delicacies, 101 Parathas has carved a niche for itself. The first outlet opened up in 2014 and has been a huge hit with the residents of JLT and Business Bay. They recently opened a branch in Abu Shagara, Sharjah. The outlets are packed to the brim during lunch on weekdays, as well as for lunch and dinner on weekends.
Pankaj Pathak, owner of 101 Paratha says, "It all started with a family recipe. Traditionally, parathas are stuffed with potato or cauliflower but we offer numerous variations of this staple dish."
Foodies get ready to feast on an amazing variety of parathas at this joint and be spoilt for choice. The restaurant offers some mouth-watering experiments such as the Chinese paratha, which is stuffed with noodles, or the Italian paratha, which comes with a lip-smacking sauce and a filling of fresh veggies. Their speciality is, of course, the traditional parathas such as aloo, gobi, pata gobi and pyaz ke parathe.
Pathak highlights, "Some of our popular dishes include traditional flavours such as Aloo cheese and Mooli methi, and speciality ones like the chilli milli, Italian, paneer tikka paratha and paratha pizza.
"One of our bestsellers is the Pocket Paratha, which is like a paratha sandwich. It's light on the stomach and is full of goodness."
The restaurant also serves up a decadent array of authentic Indian comfort food such as the chatpata samosa chaat, dahi kabab, gobi tandoori, dal khichdi, veg kolhapuri, and veg handi biryani, among others. The Punjabi thali buffet, as well as Amritsari kulcha combo are also quite popular with the diners. Plus, you can wash down the meal with a range of lassi, milkshakes, fresh juices, as well as traditional Indian desserts such as gulab jamun, gajar halwa, and more.
When asked about 101 Parathas future plans, Pathak says, "Our presence is already there in Dubai with four outlets and one in Sharjah. We are actively looking for more locations in Dubai, as well as in Abu Dhabi."
Must-try: 101 Parathas' Schezwan Paratha is bursting with flavour. It has a unique mix of noodles, spring onion, capsicum and spicy schezwan sauce.
