Mansehra, Azad Kahmir and northern areas received record snowfall and torrential rains on Thursday bringing down temperature to chilling lows.
The capital Islamabad's Margalla Hills were turned white after receiving their first snowfall in 10 years besides intermittent rain the whole night and during the day. So did Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Abbottabad and Northern Areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Hundreds of tourists, among them women and children, were stranded in Naran Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after a heavy snowstorm cut off the area from the rest of the country on Sunday.
According to locals and police officials, the main Kaghan road was blocked from Balakot to Naran and from Naran to Jalkhad, Lake Saiful Muluk and Babusar.
