A sick, dying street dog that could not even stand up was saved from the streets of India.
A video shared by Animal Aid Unlimited, India, shows sores and rashes covering the entire body of the mutt when it was spotted. The female dog is seen wrapped in a fetal position as a man arrives to save her. The rescue volunteer then lays down some biscuits in front of the poor pooch in the hope that she will eat. The volunteers then pick her up and transfer the canine to a shelter. It is in this shelter where her magical 'resurrection' happens.
One of the first tasks that the group did was to soothe her skin with anti-inflammatory medicine and try to get back her appetite. She eventually took her first bites of food which the shelter considered to be a "ray of hope". They also claim that it might have been her first full meal in a long time. The dog was also given a lotion treatment throughout her recovery process. The shelter saw her recovery through until her skin was healed enough for her to take a bath. After 10 days the clip said "her will to live grew stronger".
The video flashes forward to several months later where the dog - now named Helen - is back on her paws and well-recovered. You can watch the full clip of Helen's healing process below.
