Suspecting extra-marital affair, man kills pregnant wife

New Delhi - A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding husband.

A 22-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri on the suspicion that she has involved in an extra-marital affair, the police said on Sunday.

Simran lived with her husband Aashupal and their daughter in a rented accommodation.
According to the victim's brother, yesterday morning, when Simran was not picking up his calls, he reached her house but found Aashupal locking the door on the pretext of going to the market, a senior police official said.
Simran's husband told her brother that she was sleeping since she was unwell. He kept calling up sister but she did not respond.
Suspecting that something was amiss, he broke open the door of her house and found the body, the police official said, adding Aashupal had sent his daughter to her grandmother's place.
"The victim's brother informed the police that his sister was found dead in her home following which policemen reached the spot and recovered the body," the official said.
Simran was strangulated by her husband as he suspected her of being in an extra-marital affair, the police official said, adding a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding husband.
