British journalist and TV presenter Piers Morgan loves courting controversy, and this time he has infuriated the second largest country (by population) in the world - India!
Morgan took to Twitter earlier today to 'mock' India's two medals at the recently concluded Rio Olympics, calling the one bronze and one silver medal as 'losing medals'
Two young women won India its only two medals in Rio, Sakshi Malik in wrestling and Sindhu in badminton.
Firstly it was Shobhaa De, then a Pakistani journalist, followed by Ram Gopal Verma.
This is the tweet started it all:

And Indian Twitterati did not take it lightly, trolling the US editor-at-large for Mail Online on Twitter:
Someone even threw in a Lagaan reference! Aamir Khan would be proud:
The Shobhaa De bashing also continued:
It's no surprise that, at the time of filing this report, Piers Morgan was trending in Indian Twittersphere:
While many lashed out the journalist, there were some who seconded Morgan:
He even got a death threat, however the tweet was deleted soon after - for obvious reasons:
However, known for his razor sharp wit, Morgan was not one to go down easil - he took on ALL of Indian Twitterati:
Morgan even dragged revered cricket hero, Sachin Tendulkar in to his argument - face-saving?:
All we can say is, Morgan once again gets his 15 minutes of fame online.
