Flights operating from India to Middle East, US and Europe are likely to remain affected for the month of October in view of the air space restrictions put by Pakistan.
Soon after the surgical strikes was carried by India across the Line of Control, low-level flying was banned by Pakistan over Lahore and Karachi. This will result in the rerouting of flights to US, Europe and Middle East, causing delayed and longer flights.
According to the NDTV, a NOTAM --note to airmen or a bulletin to aviators -- issued by Pakistani aviation authorities says all flights flying over Lahore will now have to fly above 29,000 feet while crossing Lahore. A similar NOTAM was issued for civilian aircrafts over Karachi few days ago.
NOTAM cited operations reasons for the restrictions.

"What this means is that our flights will have to opt for longer and safer routes and that can delay flights," NDTV quoted a former DGCA official, who didn't wish to be identified, as saying.
For flights operating between Far East, West Asia, Europe and US, Pakistan is a popular air corridor.
