Not many people predicted a Donald Trump victory in the 2016 US election. So it wasn't a surprise to see the stunned reactions from the sporting legends on the controversial Republican's stunning win over Hillary Clinton on Tuesday.
Martina Navratilova, one of the greatest players have to have played tennis, has of course been very vocal on political affairs. The Czech-American tennis legend took to Twitter to show her anger after Trump became the 45th American president.
"I knew America was racist but not this much. And I had no idea America was this sexist. Shame on us..." the 17-time Grand Slam winner tweeted on Wednesday morning.

While the former world number one tennis player clearly admitted which side she was supporting, Pakistan's cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan had a clear message to his countrymen after the results were out in the US.
"It is high time Pakistanis stopped worrying abt elections abroad & focused on putting our own house in order," the 1992 World Cup-winning captain and the current chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said on Twitter.
But Dutch footballer Ryan Babel was worried over the global future after Trump's unexpected victory.
"I'm so nervous and i'm not even American," the former Liverpool star tweeted.
Babel wasn't alone. Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan showed his frustration in a series of tweets on Wednesday.
"It's official ... The World we live in is absolutely NUTS ...," Vaughan wrote before adding, "Not so sure what will happen but @realDonaldTrump Speech as the new president has been the complete opposite to his campaign .."
Australian cricket legend Shane Warne said the Americans didn't simply want Clinton to be their president.
"Surely people are voting against Clinton & not for Trump. Which means Trump will win as no one trusts Hilary. Is that a fair statement ?," Warne tweeted just before the final results were out.
Warne's friend and discarded England batting superstar Kevin Pietersen could not come to terms with the result either. "All 3.1million of you are dreaming...! This IS NOT really happening! It's not! It can't be! #Election2016," Pietersen wrote on Twitter as one of his followers joked: "@KP24 a Brit living in America can't quite believe it. Maybe Donald could get you back in the England squad?  @piersmorgan"!
Former England football star Gary Lineker was trolled after his tweet on the arguably the most dramatic and chaotic US election ever.
"We live in extraordinary times," the top scorer in the 1986 World Cup tweeted.
His tweet didn't go down well with some of his followers.
The former Barcelona striker then asked his offended fans not to get too serious in another tweet.
"Blocking a lot of hate filled people. Trust you got the result you wanted? Democracy has had its say. Now relax, calm down and enjoy life," he said.
Former England, Manchester United and Everton defender Philip Neville said the stunning result had not surprised him at all. "I knew Trump would win," he said on Twitter.
Former England cricketer Graeme Swann took a dig at those who said they would leave America if Trump won!
"Are NASA still looking for people to take that one way trip to mars?," the former off-spinner tweeted.
Legendary tennis coach Brad Gilbert - under whom stars like Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray and Kei Nishikori trained - was as surprised as anyone with the result.
"I got to admit I never expected DT had a chance to even win 1 set in a best of  5 Match last night," Gilbert tweeted.
