OKAY, CHANCES ARE you won't be up to the same deeds as the guys in the Peter Fonda/ Dennis Hopper classic Easy Rider, but if you're thinking of taking on an equivalent road trip, you'd be hard pressed to find a set of wheels more suited.
Fresh off the production line, the new Low Rider S is cool. There's no other word for it. Just look at it. Sturdy, powerful and part of Harley-Davidson's brilliant new Dark Custom range, this sleek midnight runner is a joy to hop onboard.
Powered by the Screamin' Eagle Twin Cam 110 engine, the Low Rider S can count the recently released Fat Boy S and Softail Slim S models as stable mates in the S cruiser lineup. These are bikes designed to deliver maximum performance, upgraded suspension and better brakes - performance-based machines like the legendary FXR models of the past.
The Screamin' Eagle Twin Cam 110 engine is a powerhouse V-Twin and the largest-displacement engine Harley-Davidson installs at the factory. Equipped with a Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather performance intake and Fat Bob-style 2-into-2 exhaust, this engine pounds out 115 foot pounds of peak torque at 3500 rpm.
But enough of the technical stuff, how does it make you feel? How do you think it makes you feel? Like an absolute legend that's how. Open up the taps and the stability of the Low Rider S is what's going to have you purring. In the corners it's tight, but it's the power you're going to love - that meaty chunk of power in a solid frame.
