Women are often called the builders of nation. This holds equally true for the UAE where women have been contributing to making the country as one of the happening places in the world. Be it academics, politics, arts or science, women of UAE have made their mark in every field. On the International Women's Day, we look at five most successful women of UAE.

1: Shaikha Lubna Bint Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign


She tops the list of being one of the most successful and influential women in the Arab world. Currently serving as the Minister of Foreign Trade, she is the first women in UAE to be appointed in ministerial post way back in 2004. She has also served as the Minister of Economic and Planning. According to the Arabian Business, Lubna has extensively contributed to boost UAE as a major donor. Besides, she is noted for being a central figure in global human development.

2: Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation


Reem is known to have played an important role in UAE's successful bid of Expo 2020. As Arabian Business puts it, she is at the fore front of making the Expo a success. Her profile as Minister of State for the UAE has helped her play a vital part of the federal government, as well as managing the International Affairs Unit of the Executive Office of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai

3: Mariam al Mansouri, Fighter Pilot of UAE airforce

Mariam is the first female fighter pilot in the UAE. Aged 35, she flies F-16 and is known to have been a part of mission in Syria according to Arabin Business. She was awarded the Mohammed bin Rashid Pride of the Emirates medal for excellence in her field

4: Dr Amina Al Rustamani, Group CEO in TECOM Group

Labeled as one of the most powerful women in Arab world, she looks over 4500 companies. Having started her career as project engineer in 2001, she currently holds the position of CEO in TECOM Investments. Additionally she is the member of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), Lamtara, Tunisie Telecom besides that of the Dubai Holding Audit Committee as per the Arabian Business.

5: Nayla Al Khaja, Film Maker

Her family never wanted her to be a film maker. And today, she is UAE's first female director. According to the Arabian Business, Nayla has done five short films. She owns a production company D-SEVEN. Through her films, Nayal touches most on social issues and has won several awards for her work.
