Donald Trump may have become the favourite whipping boy of all "reasonable" people the world over, but Hillary Clinton is not exactly having a cakewalk. The Clinton Foundation controversy and the State Department email exchanges matter - these have been dogging her steadily. Just a few days ago, the (newly) edgy The Washington Post ran a piece on how 'Hillary Clinton's scandals are no laughing matter' - that billowed into yet another round of heated discussions on social media (where else?). However, there's another concern that is, reportedly, currently the talk among Netizens: Hillary's health. Consider this flag that comes up when one does a search on Hillary+Health (you don't even need to type in Clinton), "Google users attempting to search for information regarding presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's health are fed search suggestions that have nothing to do with the issue, many on Twitter pointed out Saturday."
There's been an avalanche of searches on this matter; it's like everyone is expecting far more dire predictions than are being currently offered. The subtext of this: a whole lot of people out there appear convinced that there is something seriously wrong with the presidential candidate - and they need endorsement from more and more sources. This sort of extrapolation - and this goes way beyond analysing what standard medical reports (made public) have to say about Hillary's health - is wrong and irresponsible. Leading the charge seems to be The Political Insider, that has a Facebook following of over 2.5 million. 'Doctor Just Exposed Hillary Clinton's HEALTH SECRET! WHOA!' is one of the headlines that is being fed to the public; if you actually read the story, it quotes a nurse saying Hillary has had clots in her leg. Some more websites are running pieces that tell Americans (and the rest of the world presumably) why it's everyone right to know what "ails" the could-be Prez. Many "sensible" media outlets are calling this a hysterical propaganda by right-wingers. According to The Guardian, Dr Lisa Bardack, Hillary's personal physician, has come on record, saying, "The real issue isn't Hillary Clinton's health - it's that she might win." She may be right. And maybe it's time to call the bluff.
