Dubai Municipality’s Food Safety Department now has its own dedicated smart inspection services. In a move to ramp up both food safety measures and its use of modern technology as part of Dubai Plan 2021’s strategies, DM’s IT department has rolled out this service to ensure food safety using the aid of technology.
This comes as part of DM Food Safety’s second phases of services, leaning towards the emirate’s smart government movement. It aims for more sophisticated, international standards in monitoring establishments and outlets dealing in food products.
Khalid Sharif Al Awadhi, Executive Director of the Food Safety Department said the current system has been changed and replaced by a much easier, less time consuming process to serve all customer categories.
“With food establishments numbering 15,000 in Dubai at last count, the Food Safety Department is planning to provide smart and sophisticated services, keeping in line with the developments in this vital sector and to align with the emirate’s remarkable excellence in all sectors,” Al Awadhi.
