SHARJAH - Two bodies were found in National Paints factory two months after a massive fire destroyed it.The bodies were found by company employees after they were given access to the burnt premises to start clean-up operations on Monday.
One of them has been identified as that of Khurshid Ahmed, 22, from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He was already reported missing by a relative working in Dubai.
However, the second body has not been identified.
The bodies have been taken to Sharjah Police Forensic Laboratory. Though a police spokesperson confirmed that one of the bodies was that of Khurshid, a forensic expert with the police said they needed to do DNA tests to identify them.
Khurshid was working as an electrician for the company.
The National Paints management refused to comment on Monday.
National Paints, the biggest paint factory in Sharjah, was devastated on May 11 in what authorities described as the biggest factory fire in the emirate ever.
It took more than seven hours for firefighters from all over the country to control the fire. Two days later, the fire erupted again. The fire started a third time five days after cooling operations began.
