According to Brigadier-General Salem Ali Al Shamsi, director of Privatization and Development of Public Resources, Abu Dhabi Police, “We have completed all the arrangements for the auction, which goes under the slogan ‘A unique number to distinct target’ meant to meet the needs of the enthusiasts.”
Al Shamsi noted that the most important double-digit number that is expected to generate a lot of interest is plate number 28.
Among the other important plate numbers to be auctioned are 666, 300, 911, 599, 110, 505, 660, 7000, 8888.
Abdullah Matar Al Manai, CEO of Emirates Auction, said interested parties can register for the auction and bid online through www.emiratsauc tion.ae.
“The Abu Dhabi Police and Emirates Auction have developed this e-service to become the first local, regional and global service provider of comprehensive electronic bidding from registration to the delivery of the property to the winners,” he said.
The previous electronic auction of distinguished plate number 39 from the fifth category made a world record when it fetched Dh1.72 million, breaking the previous world record set by the British plate number CEO1, which was sold on e-Bay for Dh1 million in 2007.
