Bahrain King Visits
Yas Marina Circuit

ABU DHABI — General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, welcomed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain at the Yas Marina Circuit, venue of the first Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Gen. Shaikh Mohammed took King Hamad on a tour of the spectacular motorsport destination where he was briefed on the development of the track.

King Hamad toured the sports, tourist and recreational facilities and then attended the trial launch of the F1 race.

Gen. Shaikh Mohammed paid tribute to the Bahraini monarch for his country’s support to the UAE’s bid to host the world motorsport event.

King Hamad said he was impressed with the unique Yas Marina Circuit and lauded the efforts made for organising the world sport event.

“The opening of the UAE circuit is a new gain to the motorsport in the region and a new addition to the UAE record of achievements under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Rulers of  the Emirates,” he added. —
