Dubai Executive Office Linked to Ruler’s Court

DUBAI — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a law attaching the Executive Office in Dubai to the Ruler’s Court.

The move is part of continuous efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive development in the Emirate of Dubai through  the vision of Shaikh Mohammed to improve government performance.

The office was mandated by the law to conduct economic, social, political and cultural studies to support strategic decision-making and follow up implementation of resolutions and projects issued by the Ruler of Dubai.

It will prepare long term strategic development plans and envisage scenarios of potential challenges in view of present and future global and regional changes and recommend strategies for addressing them.

The new law, which will replace law no 28 of 2008 for the establishment of the Executive Office, shallgo into force from the date of publication.

The new body shall have the legal personality to discharge missions and responsibilities assigned to it.

In accordance with the law, the Executive Office will support the concerned departments which provide the guidelines in addition to linking the best results in the professional sphere.

The move aims for the follow-up and implementation programmes of the emirate and will be carried out for the overall development of the emirate and its people.

The office will prepare studies and long term development strategies as well as visualisation and implementation of the changing needs to meet international and regional necessities.

The new law replaces the existing one establishing the new growth for the Office stipulating that it should have a chairperson by decree.

The law also says that the financial resources of the Office will be attained from the emirate.
