Bahraini Minister to Chat 
with Public Online

MANAMA — Top government officials will be engaged in a series of direct discussing with the public in the newly formed e-government blog, starting from Wednesday.

The Minister of Cabinet Affairs Shaikh Ahmed bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa will be the first one to chat online for three days with the public.

The blog that was launched on Monday by the e-Government Authority aims at promoting direct interaction with the public.

The web site www.bahrain.bh enables the public to express their opinions and present their suggestions, in addition to their comments on government services. The on-line meetings between officials and the public will take place on a daily basis for one hour.

Among topics to be discussed are Bahrain’s e-government strategy, strategic priorities, enhancement of the quality and turnaround time of the government services, the extent of citizens and residents interaction with the e-government, the establishment of a multipurpose national contact centre and the e-government role in foreign direct investment. 

Shaikh Ahmed said in a statement that people from all walks fof life are welcome to participate, while hoping that the new service would improve the e-government facilities to serve the public needs.
