SHARJAH - A fire which broke out at a fibre glass factory in the third industrial area in Sharjah on Saturday at 11am was successfully put out by the Sharjah Civil Defence by 1.30pm.Colonel Wahid Al Serkal, Director of the Sharjah Civil Defence, confirmed that no causalities or injuries were reported, though the fire spread rapidly to two other factories. “We managed to control the blaze before it spread to the neighbouring factories and warehouses,” said Colonel Al Serkal.
“The cooling process continued for hours after the blaze, and foam was used in the extinguishing process,” he said. Since the factory contained flammable substances the cooling process continued for some time, he added.
Colonel Al Serkal noted that the forensic laboratory of Sharjah Police will determine the cause of the fire.
