Preliminary investigation showed that he was sleeping in the container filled with onions and that he might have died due to lack of oxygen.  Brigadier Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director of General Department of Criminal Investigation, said that the police received report about the incident and there was no reason for the worker to go inside the container. The dead body was referred to the General Department of Forensic Medicine for further investigation. Al Mansouri also said that the gases emitted from the onion might have caused the death.

He explained that the worker was living in Hor Al Anz and might have slept in the container instead of going back to the room.
