Khalifa stresses UAE support to Bahrain

(Wam) / 3 March 2011

AL AIN — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Wednesday reiterated the UAE’s support to the Kingdom of Bahrain in its resolve to safeguard security and stability of the Gulf nation.

Shaikh Khalifa said the UAE will not spare any effort in providing all forms of support to Bahrain to help restore security, stability and growth, which are components of regional stability.

The pledge came during a reception hosted by the President for Shaikh Sulman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, at Al Rodah Palace here. Shaikh Sulman is visiting the country as part of a regional tour.

Present were Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative, and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Shaikh Khalifa said the UAE appreciates the wisdom exhibited by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain in tackling the recent events and taking decisions to boost national solidarity in order to restore security and stability. He stressed that the UAE is confident King Hamad and Bahrain will overcome the problems through dialogue and in the interest of nation building.

Shaikh Sulman conveyed to Shaikh Khalifa regards from King Hamad. “We appreciate the continuous support of the UAE leadership and people to Bahrain,” Shaikh Sulman said. He briefed Shaikh Khalifa about the latest developments in Bahrain. and King Hamad’s efforts to address the national objectives to build the kingdom.

The UAE and Bahrain leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways of bolstering them in various fields. Shaikh Khalifa conveyed his regards to King Hamad. —
