RAS AL KHAIMAH - His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has issued Law No. 1 of year 2012, on regulating the Department of Civil Aviation in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.According to the new law, the Department of Civil Aviation in RAK will be administratively independent corporate body with independent budget to ensure achievement of its purposes.
The department will represent the emirate in the General Authority of Civil Aviation and other relevant competent Civil Aviation authorities.
It will also supervise and organise the departmental affairs in the emirate, in accordance with the Federal Law No. 20 of year 1991 as amended, and the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation to maintain the safety of aviation and air navigation.
The department will also administratively and technically supervise over the airport to ensure work progress, maintenance and development, in accordance with the local and federal laws in this respect.
It will represent the emirate at the Arab and international civil aviation conferences.The department will propose fees and local taxes against sheltering and departure of aircraft.
