Cricket: Global Distribution win Dulsco Ramadan Cricket opener

Dubai - Emrill found the going tough right from the start as wickets tumbled at regular intervals

Defending champions Global Distribution started their Dulsco Ramadan Cricket Tournament campaign in style by defeating Emrill Cricket Club by 96 runs at the Zabeel Cricket grounds on Friday night in the opening match of the 15th edition of this Tournament.
The tournament is organised by Dubai Cricket Council in association with Dulsco Sports Club and supported by Cricketlovers.com and Multiplex International LLC. 
Choosing to bat first, Global rode on Yousuf Bhatt's entertaining century to post 264-2 in 20 overs and then restricted Emrill to 168-9 in 20 overs to send a warning to their rivals.
After Zawar Ahmed was dismissed cheaply, Yousuf in the company of Salman R thrashed the Emrill bowlers all over the park. Blasting 14 sixers and three boundaries, he raced to 129 off just 55 balls to give Global Distribution bowlers a great platform to bowl at. Salman was equally destructive,  hitting a 44-ball 95, which contained 11 sixes and two boundaries as Global Distribution ended on 264-2.
In the run chase, Emrill found the going tough right from the start as wickets tumbled at regular intervals. From 2-11 in the second over, they were 4-58 by the seventh over. Only Dilisara offered some resistance to the Global Distribution bowlers with a 45. Mohammad Rashid with 3-19 was the most successful bowler and was provided good support by the rest of the bowlers. Murtaza Ali, Qasim Butt, Parvez Ahmed, Mohd Tariq and Yousuf Bhatt claiming a wicket each as Emrill finished on 168-9.
Yousuf Bhatt was named the Multiplex man-of-the-match for his thrilling century. He is the first batsmen to score a century in the opening match of this tournament.
Hosts Dulsco will take on Hypertech Holograms at Zabeel Park Cricket Ground at 7:45pm.
