Malayalam film "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" has won three awards at the 2016 Asiavision Awards to be held in Sharjah Cricket Stadium on November 18. Nivin Pauley has won the Best Actor award, Vineet Sreenivasan the Best Film award and Renji Panicker the Best Character Actor award.

"A film that focused on the life of a Dubai-based expatriate family, 'Jacobinte Swargarajyam' has been selected as the best movie of the year," said Nissar Sayed, Managing Director, Asiavision Events, which organizes the annual movie awards.
Dubai-based actress Asha Sharath has won the Excellence Award for her performance in "Paavada," and "Anuraga Karikkinvellam."
The Asiavision Movie Awards, now in its 11th edition, is an annual film award programme to honour film stars and artists from India. The winners are selected on the basis of voting by the public through various channels. It is mainly an annual film award ceremony at which the who's who of the Malayalam film industry will be present.
Mohanlal has been voted the Popular Actor of the Year for his performance in the Malayalam movies "Oppam" and "Pulimurugan." Manju Warrier has been voted the Best Actress for her roles in "Karinkunnam 6's" and "Vettah." Manikandan R. Achari has been voted the Second Best Actor for his performance in "Kammattipadam."

Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor has been selected for the Icon of India and the Best Actress (Hindi) awards for her performance in "Neerja." Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Sethupathi have been voted the Best Actress and Best Actor in Tamil for their performance in "Dharma Durai."
Among the various award category winners is Radhika Apte (Outstanding Performer) for her performance in "Parched," "Phobia," and "Kabali." Others to be crowned with Asiavision Film Awards 2016 include Ram Charan (The Youth Icon award), Baby Nainika (Best Child Artiste for her role in the Tamil movie "Theri") and Priyadarshan (Best Director / Outstanding Movie of the Year for "Oppam.")
In other categories, winners included Kabir Bedi (Best Anti-Hero for his role in the Malayalam movie "Anarkali" and the Hindi movie "Mohenjo Daro"), Gopi Sunder (Best Music Director), B.K. Harinarayanan (Best Lyricist), M.G. Sreekumar (Best Male Singer), K.S. Chithra (Best Female Singer), Baby Sreya (New Sensation in Singing award), Amy Jackson (Excellence Award for her performances in "I" and "Theri"), Kunchacko Boban (Man of the Year award for "Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho" and "Vettah"), Aju Varghese (Best Supporting Supporting Actor for "Ann Maria Kalippilaanu") and Sijoy Varghese (Special Jury Award for "James & Alice") are among the 31 award winners announced on Monday in Dubai.
