After spectacular performances by popular Arab and Western singers such as Majida El Roumi, Kazem Al Sahir, Yanni and, most recently, Marcel Khalife, Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Sharjah, is all set to host the Grammy Award-winning Spanish singer and songwriter Julio Iglesias, who has more than 300 million records in 14 languages and 80 albums to his credit making him one of the best-selling artists of all time, on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016.
With a career spanning nearly five decades, Iglesias, who also happens to be the father of Latin pop sensation Enrique Iglesias, came up with 'Julio Iglesias' Milestones' in 1970 and has not stopped since.  He holds two Guinness World Book of Records distinctions for selling the largest number of records in most languages (1983) and the Best Selling Male Latin Artist (2013).
The Julio Iglesias concert is the latest of Al Majaz Amphitheatre's initiatives launched as part of Sharjah's efforts to promote the appreciation of art and nourish cultural sensibilities in the Emirate. Al Majaz Amphitheatre itself has been part of the movement by the Emirate to enrich the art and cultural scene in the UAE and the region, providing quality and healthy entertainment with a purpose to the public.
From performing for the first time in Madison Square Gardens in New York in 1976 to record-breaking performances in Chile, Japan, Brazil, Colombia and around the world all these years, Julio Iglesias has come a long way and has many firsts to his credit.
For instance, he sold more than 1,200,000 copies of his album "De niña a mujer", in just six months in Japan, and he sold more than 2,000,000 copies of the same album in Brazil in 11 months.  Julio Iglesias has earned a number of prestigious awards and honours, like the coveted Grammy, acknowledging his preeminent position as one of the world's most popular artistes and musicians.
Like all great artistes and musicians, Julio Iglesias' music celebrates love, peace, fellowship of men and the best of humanity.
Since its inception in 2014, Al Majaz Amphitheatre has been dedicated to fostering a global music culture in the Emirate, offering connoisseurs of music an opportunity to enjoy world-class performances in Sharjah.
Tickets for the Julio Iglesias concert are available on Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.ae. They can be ordered by phone on 04 3662289.
