It's vacation time for school students in Dubai and many of them must have planned their activities in advance. Many of the expatriates would visit their home nation during vacation and some of them would spend their time in Dubai. Let's look at some of the exciting places in Dubai where the children can spend their vacation time.

Sports days

Fancy a day of sports? Want to dump the kids somewhere? Dubai World Trade Centre's Sports World has a Just Play Sports Camp which allows kids to play sports all day. There are various age categories and you can choose the sport that interests you most. We've heard the basketball is great, so get involved.

Zero G mornings

It's wet and wild most of the time, but Zero Gravity has a new breakfast on offer every day and it is epic. Quite literally. Called The Epic Breakfast, enjoy two hours of muffins, fruit, croissants, eggs and other cooked items, washed down with tea, coffee and juices for Dhs99. In this eatery that's a good deal.

It's a Lego land!

Boxpark is stepping up the summer excitement with bricktastic promotions.  The world of LEGO is descending on Boxpark. Open every day from 12pm till 10pm, the extravaganza will see a host of complimentary experiences including LEGOLAND Dubai's popular 'Build and Test" attraction where children get to build car models and race them down a ramp and the LEGO Minifigures treasure hunt.

Dubai Parks and Resorts

Dubai Parks and Resorts offers an amazing array of mega theme parks like Motiongate, Bollywood Parks and Legoland. People can even take a rest in Riverland entertainment and dining boulevard, which offers all the latest in dynamic family fun. Besides Lapita Hotel is a Polynesian-themed luxury hotel situated right in the parks.

IMG Worlds of Adventure

If you are looking for nail-biting thrill, head to the IMG Worlds of Adventure over the long weekend. The park is divided into four zones which include Marvel, Cartoon Network, Lost Valley - Dinosaur Adventure, and IMG Boulevard, spread over 1.5 million square feet in a temperature controlled environment for year-round entertainment.

City Walk

City Walk is one of the most kid-friendly shopping districts with areas like Hub Zero - a virtual gaming experience with different zones for all ages and The Green Planet - an enclosed ecosystem recreating a tropical rainforest with more than 3,000 plants and animals.

Al Nasr Leisureland

Al Nasr, also popularly called Leisureland, is built on a 48-acre site opened with the philosophy and concept to create family oriented leisure-centre for sports and entertainment. The fruit garden, Luna park have amazing rides for the children including go kart, bumber car and Himalaya ride.

Aquaventure Atlantis Dubai Waterpark

This is a water park found on the grounds of the Atlantis Hotel. Access to the park is free for hotel guests, but, when visiting the park as a visitor, one has to pre-book tickets. Set amidst beautiful waterfalls, this fantastic 42-acre water park has many water-based rides, including rivers, rapids and speed slide, water coasters, tidal river, dramatic wave surges and Splashers children's play area, the largest of its kind in the region, apart from a private beach and tropical landscapes.

Children's City
The Children's City is located near the Dubai Creek Park, about four miles south-west of Downtown Dubai, and is designed so as to appeal to children of age group 2 to 15. The Dubai-based Children's City is the first educational city in the UAE for children in this age group, wherein they can investigate, play, learn and explore about the world in which they live.

Dolphin Bay at Atlantis

Dolphin bay is located at Atlantis, The Palm, along the Crescent Road on the Palm Island. At Dolphin Bay, you can swim and interact with live dolphins in a tropical setting that resembles the live natural habitat of dolphins. Dolphin Bay in Atlantis is also one of the most sophisticated dolphin habitats in the world.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

Located in the Dubai Mall, the Dubai Aquarium is the largest suspended aquarium in the world, hosting thousands of species of sea life, found no-where else in the world. It is also one of the most popular attractions in the UAE for children.

Dubai Creekside Park

The Dubai Creekside Park is a great place for families and kids to enjoy while on holiday, given its botanical gardens, a 18-hole mini golf course, picnic locations with barbecue equipment, an amphitheatre with capacity to accommodate 5000 people, mini train, roller skating, and children's play area.

Dubai Dancing Fountain

Designed by California-based WET, the creators of the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, the Dubai Dancing Fountain is located on the 30-acre Burj Khalifa Lake, and shoots water jet at a height of 500ft, equivalent to that of a 50-storey building. The Fountain is 900 ft long and has five circles of varying sizes and two central arcs.


Dubai Dolphinarium
The Dubai Dolphinarium is the first fully air-conditioned indoor dolphinarium in the Middle East region, with habitat of dolphins and seals, offering visitors an opportunity to interact with the gentle aquatic mammals and watch their performance. There are also live dolphin shows and photo sessions.

Dubai Ice Rink

The Dubai Ice Rink is located on the ground level of "The Dubai Mall". The Olympic-size ice rink includes world-class facilities and is a destination of endless fun for all, be it first-timers or those who wish to master their skills. The Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink in the Dubai Mall is open to skaters of all ages and abilities with instructors on hand to help get you into the groove and around every curved corner. Older kids will enjoy the disco session where lights and chart-topping tunes give them opportunity to show off their triple Salchows in the emirate's coolest dance party.

KidZania

Situated inside The Dubai Mall, the KidZania provides children and their parents a safe and very realistic educational environment. Kidzania is an 'edutainment' complex complete with paved streets, buildings and a functioning economy. Watch the kids play grown-up, taking on jobs that range from firemen, chefs and doctors to radio-show hosts, Emirates pilots or even perfumers creating their very own scents.

Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park

'LEGOLAND Dubai' and 'LEGOLAND Water Park', which form part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, is a good destination for families with children of ages 2 to 12. Both Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park offer hands-on experience for families to enjoy the Lego themed adventures through various interactive rides, water slides, models and building experiences.
Legoland Water Park, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region's largest integrated theme park destination in the region, opened the gates to the Middle East's only water park specifically designed for families with children aged 2-12.

Magic Planet

Magic Planet is a huge arcade full of games, draws and rides, with more than a million dirham worth of machinery, and is a place where you can be assured that kids will not get bored.

Ski Dubai

There are many malls in Dubai but The Mall of Emirates is renowned for its 1-degree Celsius, 22,500 square meter indoor ski resort, known as Ski Dubai.

Kite Beach

It's all about the kids at Kite Beach, now complete with a Skate Park, outdoor trampolines, an adventure gym and a play area for the little ones. It's the perfect place to have a swim with the kids, collect shells and then enjoy breakfast or lunch at the famous food truck, Salt, or one of the many beach canteens along the running track. Parents can sit back and enjoy the kite surf show and stunning views of Burj Al Arab while the kids play in the sand or on the adventure course at Wire World.

Bounce Dubai

Kids (and adults) are in store for some challenging fun on over 100 interconnected trampolines at Bounce Dubai. Little ones can somersault their heart out at Mini Bounce while older kids practice their dunk in the basketball hoops and bounce off The Wall. As an added bonus, everyone is guaranteed to sleep well afterwards.

Wild Wadi

Cool off at Wild Wadi waterpark with over 30 attractions perfect for the entire family. Ride a water rollercoaster, take the plunge down gravity-defying slides, or simply float on the lazy river and admire the stunning Burj Al Arab.

Ride ponies at Desert Palm

Tally up the kids and head out to The Desert Palm Riding School, next to the luxurious Desert Palm Hotel, for a lovely afternoon visit to the stables. Hand-led 10 and 20-minute horse rides for all ages are available every morning and afternoon (except Fridays) at a cost of Dh10-30.

Dubai Garden Glow

Conveniently located beside Sheikh Zayed Road, the Dubai Garden Glow is a relaxing light and sound show where families can enjoy fabulous light displays. Worthy of note are its light tunnels of varying shapes and sizes.
