A lot of interesting events are set to be held across the UAE this weekend. We select some of the best events to make it an exciting week for you. Here are our pick of events to check out this weekend.

Your luxury show


Who here doesn't like luxury for summer? Well, you are going to love this. The Numaish Summer Show is going to bring together a host of designers including Farah Sanjana, Priyanka Khemka and Urvashi Kaur for the women, as well as jewellery and accessories, a smattering of kids' and men's wear and home décor retailers. It really is an all-encompassing show taking place under one roof from 11am-9pm, on Friday and Saturday at the Conrad Hotel, Dubai. We're going to get styled by Anavila, Upasana and Rahul N Anushka.

A super Weekend


Movies, music and more will be on offer at the Dubai Creek Harbour Promenade this weekend, starting from tonight. RiseDCH will be jam-packed with free family entertainment also including immersive technology and tasty treats. This week's free movie screenings have a superhero theme, with the 1978 classic Superman the Movie - a firm favourite round these parts. Fly on down for more activities.

Keep calm, peeps


It's not every shop that can command such attention by opening its doors, but then the Apple Store isn't just any old shop. The latest addition at Dubai Mall opens today. A space for the community to gather and be entertained, Apple Dubai Mall will also serve as a venue to watch the spectacular evening fountain shows and will host Apple's new global in-store experience, "Today at Apple".

Eddie Izzard is in


Tickets may be difficult to come by at this point, but beg borrow or cadge one if you can because Eddie Izzard is one of Britain's finest stand ups. You may recognise him from films including Valkrie and Ocean's Twelve, but it's his internationally acclaimed comedy material, which makes him our top comic. He's at the World Trade Centre tonight and is sure to bring the house down with his wit. Try to make it.

'Mai we come in?'


Thought Oktoberfest was the only Teutonic shindig in town? Well, the Germans are always up for a good party, and where there's a party, there's plenty of great food and drinks!
Maifest is the traditional German celebration that marks the arrival of spring and it is on at the Grand Hyatt Dubai for a fifth year running.
Cheers, oompah, Lederhosen and pretzels are the name of the game. Dance and sing along to the tunes of the Die Kirchdorfer band, flown in all the way from Munich.
Enjoy German favorites such as Kalbsbratwurst, Spargel, Erdbeerschnitte or Veal Schnitzel and the finest German beverages in the air-conditioned Maifest tent. On until May 6.

Want to be a wrestler?


This Saturday, Stephanie McMahon, wrestler and Chief Brand Officer at WWE, is in Dubai as a Special Guest Speaker at the Dubai Business Women's Council, where she will be leading a forum which will focus on Female Empowerment and Leadership, Gender Balance, Diversity and Women in Business. Stephanie is now worth an estimated $55m and balances her on-screen TV character with her boardroom responsibilities. As well as supporting the DBWC, Stephanie will also be making a series of announcements including holding the first ever Try Outs in the Middle East and the announcement of the next WWE Live tour coming to the UAE.
