Doll workshop

Interested in the creative field? Join artist Aisha Al Blooshi in a whimsical workshop at Manarat Al Saadiyat to create your own doll. Inspired by the surrealist movement, Al Blooshi will demonstrate how mundane objects can be turned into unique artworks. It's on Saturday from 9.30pm and costs Dh25 per person.

You have to take a bit of time to chill, don't you? Giving back

Refugee agency UNHCR has set up an awareness activation at Ibn Battuta Mall under the theme 'Be the light for refugees'. It displays a model of a Refugee Housing Unit, and allows you to experience the journey of refugees through virtual reality devices. With greater understanding comes greater compassion.

Burj breakfast

Suspended 200 metres in the sky within the Burj Al Arab, Al Muntaha on the 27th floor is paying homage to the time-honoured European weekend brunch. Aptly named Le Grand Petit Déjeuner, French for 'The Grand Breakfast', this brunch merges a seasonal menu with magnificent vistas every Friday, from 10am to 3.30pm. Try the Turbot with Caviar Beurre Blanc, c'est magnifique!
Live session

On Saturday at Cinema Akil, Eve and Kyle will wind down the weekend from 8pm with their songs and poetry. Part of the magnificent venue's Ramadan programming, enjoy the entertainment on the house as you sit down to Iftar at 7pm, and watch a film after 9pm. This week the movie is Naila & The Uprising - Julia Bacha's piece on the role of women through activist Naila Ayesh's eyes.

Archive wonders

The Galleria Al Maryah Island is devoting this year's Ramadan to the Year of Tolerance with a photography exhibition in collaboration with the National Archive. Pictures of key moments in the development of the UAE, spanning more than two decades from 1965 to 1990 are on display during the mall's opening hours from 8pm to 11pm.

With Game of Thrones fever at an all time high, a food delivery service is getting in on the action. 30 of Talabat's riders are channeling their inner GoT characters this month by dressing up as characters from the show.
