STEVE JOBS, THE drama starring Michael Fassbender, will screen as the centerpiece feature at the New York Film Festival on October 3, according to an announcement from the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The film, directed by Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin (based on the best-selling Walter Isaacson biography), is considered to be one of this fall's major Oscar contenders.
It co-stars Kate Winslet and Seth Rogen (as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak). Jobs, which is being released by Universal Pictures, opens in the US on October 9. But the pic is also rumoured to be playing at the Toronto Film Festival in September. The 53rd annual New York Film Festival kicks off on September 25 with The Walk, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as high-wire artist Philippe Petit. Reuters
