Nothing quite catches the frenzy of Bollywood fans, as much as gossip about their favourite celebrities. Even more so if it's about Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan who has been making headlines recently amid tensions between the two countries. Turns out Fawad Khan has found another popular fan across the border.
According to PINKVILLA, in a chat session with Neha Dhupia, filmmaker Karan Johar was asked who is his favourite between Ranbir Kapoor and Fawad Khan. His response was, "I am going to go with Fawad because he's the new novelty and Ranbir knows I am going to go with Fawad."
It was also speculated that Fawad would be the first guest on popular chat show "Koffee With Karan". Asked whether he will begin the show's fifth edition with the "Khoobsurat" actor, Karan said at the 7th Jagran Film Festival on Saturday: "No. I haven't yet reached the combination. There has been a lot of conjecture about that. We are zeroing on episode one and will answer soon."
Both Ranbir and Fawad will be starring in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also features gorgeous Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma. The movie could face problems with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) due to Fawad's presence in the movie.
Fawad has been in the news for being among the Pakistani artistes who have worked in India and have refrained from condemning the September 28 Uri terror attack, which killed 19 Indian soldiers.
Last month, a body of Indian film producers passed a resolution banning Pakistanis from working in films being made in India. The move was announced by the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association in Mumbai.
In retaliation, Pakistani theatre chain owners banned the screening of Indian films.
The 34-year-old made his Bollywood debut with "Khoobsurat", but had already found a fan following in India with the telecast of his TV shows "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" and "Humsafar".

Karan Johar had earlier said the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's demand to ban Pakistani artistes from working in India is not a solution to terrorism.
Karan said on a news channel: "I understand the anger and the anguish that surround us and I empathise, my heart bleeds for the lost lives. There is nothing that can justify this terrible feeling of terror. Then you are faced in a situation such as this (asking for ban on Pakistani artistes). If this was truly a solution, then one would take it."
"But this is not a solution. I don't believe it is. There are larger forces that have to come together and sort the situation and this cannot be banning talent or art."
The 44-year-old who has been under verbal attack from various quarters for casting Pakistani talent in his film, says that he feels "vulnerable" while speaking about the issue publicly.
"I feel vulnerable and scared while even saying this. I completely feel the pain and anger. If my film is targeted because of this, it will make me exceptionally sad because my intent was always to put out a creative product out of love and nothing else," he said.
When asked how will he deal with the threats, Karan said: "I don't know... I beseech everyone to look at it holistically and understand the situation, that there is a larger situation here and it has nothing to do with banning talent. Let's look at it from a larger perspective and find the answer."
